The Grand Canyon University Orthopedic Clinic

The Lopes Orthopedic Clinic (LOC) at GCU is a collaborative effort between the Canyon Health and Wellness Center and the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions’ athletic training program (ATP). This clinic’s mission is to minimize the physical, emotional and financial burdens associated with injuries and/or illnesses incurred during physical activity through the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services.

Certified athletic trainers (ATC) are healthcare professionals (HCP) who collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patients who are both physically active and sedentary. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities.
