Learn About Our Providers

Healthcare Providers

The Canyon Health and Wellness Clinic is proudly managed by a board-certified physician and nurse practitioners who can prescribe medications, administer physical exams, treat illnesses and provide holistic individualized care to all of our students. Our medical providers are board-certified in adult, family or women’s health. They complete ongoing continuing education each year to stay informed about best practices for patient care.

Family and HIPAA Release

Once a patient reaches the age of 18, healthcare providers and staff are not permitted to discuss the patient’s health information with family members (including parents or spouses) unless the patient has completed a HIPAA release form authorizing the disclosure to specific individuals. This form is provided to patients during their first visit as part of the new patient paperwork and is updated annually.

Accreditation

Campus Health at Grand Canyon University (GCU)  has been accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) since 2020.

This every three-year accreditation process begins with the completion of a comprehensive application and is supported during the intervening period by the use of the AAAHC Handbook and other quality improvement tools. The on-site AAAHC accreditation survey team rigorously compares the Campus Health Service level of compliance with nationally recognized standards of practice, which is then documented through a written report and an award of full accreditation.
