We provide confidential, non-clinical support to connect you with the right resources, coordinate your care, and help you thrive during your college years and beyond.

About behavioral case management

What is behavioral case management?

Behavioral case management is a collaborative, non-clinical service that assesses, plans, and coordinates support for students experiencing behavioral health issues. Our case managers work with you to understand your needs and then help you access the services and resources—both on and off-campus—that can provide the right level of care. We are your primary point of contact and an advocate in your health journey.

How is a case manager different from a therapist?

Think of a case manager as a guide and a collaborator for your overall care.

  • A case manager focuses on helping you navigate logistics, connect with resources, and implement your treatment plan. They do not provide therapy but work closely with your therapist and other care providers.
  • A therapist provides psychotherapy sessions to help you treat underlying mental health symptoms through therapeutic interventions and clinical practices.

How we can help

Our behavioral case managers can assist with a wide range of issues and services, including:

  • Connecting you with resources: Identifying and referring you to appropriate on- and off-campus providers, support groups, and other services.
  • Coordinating care: Working with your health center providers, professors, or family (with your permission) to ensure seamless communication and a cohesive treatment plan.
  • Providing non-clinical support: Offering one-on-one meetings to help you maintain momentum toward your wellness goals and navigate day-to-day challenges.
  • Navigating logistics: Assisting with appointments, transportation, financial aid concerns, or communication with external providers and insurance companies.
  • Creating a success plan: Working with you to develop an individualized plan that addresses your specific needs and goals.
  • Following up on progress: Checking in with you regularly to monitor your progress and adjust the plan as needed.
